The
vintage Bentley wedding cars are something really special where this vintage vehicle is called
Amy our fifty-four year old Lady of pure elegance.
She is a Bentley R-Type first registered in 1953 and having been owned in the past by the Norwegian Embassy in London. For this real lady it cannot be denied that there is something really very special about vintage vehicles and especially so when used as wedding cars.
This vehicle in particular looks beautiful in photographs with her approach stunning where video is deployed and remember, your wedding day maybe the only time you travel in one of these cars. To see them, and in particular our Amy is almost like travelling back in time itself.
We are very proud to offer this vehicle. Amy is a magnificent
wedding car being two tone in colour. The interior has been re-upholstered in light grey
leather piped with red. Beneath your feet is a sumptuous deep pile lambs-wool rug and foot
rests for added comfort.
For the latter journey, cocktail tables are built into the rear of the front seats should you wish for that first drink as husband and wife.
A wee bit of history about the Bentley R-Type. These vehicles are very similar to the Bentley MkVI that were produced until 1952. The biggest drawback with the MkVI was the small boot, so the longer booted Bentley R-Type was born.
The Bentley R-Type first appeared in 1952 and lasted until 1955. The Engine capacity of these cars had grown to 4566cc and they now came with standard four speed automatic transmission, although manual boxes were still available as is the case with ours. The top speed is 106mph and they return in the region of 14mpg. Between 1952-1955, 2320 of these beautiful cars were produced where they are a delight to both drive and travel in.
Our Amy was subject to a total engine rebuild in 2005 where two of the six piston had to be imported from Australia. Strange for a British Car!
