Silver Cloud by Rolls Royce. It is a car associated with Royalty throughout the entire world. Its possession, is and has been a dream of many and a pleasure for few. Ownership elevates one in the eyes of others, suggesting success in their lives. As wedding cars, it is fortunate that travel in such wondrous vehicles becomes a reality.
The example here is the Silver Cloud 1 finished to the exterior in Cobalt. This Silver Cloud and she is called Cloe by those that know her. Cloe was initially registered in 1957. In the wedding business, cars such as these are simply perfect for so many reasons. They are large, elegant, desirable and so much more, but from a wedding transport point of view, they offer the future bride and groom the pleasure of wondrous comfort, smooth travel and unbelievable refinement in workmanship and attention to detail in every respect.
The wedding car displayed seats four in comfort where entry is easy through the large high
doors. Once within, it is seen that the interior is of a deep red Connolly hide where seating
is extremely comfortable with adequate leg room. To the floor is a deep lambs wool rug that so
many comment on in respect of its thickness. There is much real wood within with much burl
inlayed and other exotic highly polish wood. Picnic table are to the rear of the front seats
though not practical to use whilst in motion. Handles, knobs and button, are as one would
expect, chrome.
Small vanity mirrors are to
the rear and permit that last moment inspection prior to the big moment of the marriage
ceremony.
The Rolls Royce Silver Cloud is remarkable similar to the Bentley S1 of the same period and could almost be considered as brother and sister. In the case of the Silver Cloud, there is the brother. The body lines, bolder and sharper and almost appearing aggressive compared the slightly more graceful curvature of the Bentley S1. Perhaps, this is why Royalty and industrial giants opt for Rolls Royce as an extension to their personality.
From the point of weddings, car manufacturer makes little difference be it Rolls Royce or Bentley. One hires these cars for a very special day, that of marriage, to feel special and be special and simply to enjoy the pleasures that such vehicle permit one to receive.
